CGDevTools 16 – Compatibility, Requirements, Versioning and Licensing
IntraWeb Compatibility
CGDevTools has been updated to be fully compatible with the latest IntraWeb 16 releases.
CGDevTools 16 is not compatible with older versions of IntraWeb.
Existing IntraWeb applications built with IntraWeb 12, 14, or 15 can generally be ported to IntraWeb 16 with relatively little effort. However, IntraWeb 16 includes significant internal changes, particularly in areas used by third-party component sets. As a result, maintaining the same CGDevTools binaries across different IntraWeb versions is not practical.
For this reason, the current version of CGDevTools is specifically designed for IntraWeb 16.
Version Numbers
CGDevTools follows the IntraWeb version numbering scheme.
For example:
CGDevTools 16.2.5 → IntraWeb 16.2.5
This makes it easy to identify which version of CGDevTools should be used with a particular IntraWeb release.
Whenever a new IntraWeb release introduces changes that break binary compatibility, a corresponding new CGDevTools version will be released using the same version number as the IntraWeb release.
JavaScript and jQuery
The current CGDevTools build uses the same version of jQuery supported by IntraWeb 16.
This ensures that CGDevTools integrates with the JavaScript environment provided by IntraWeb rather than introducing a separate or conflicting jQuery version.
Supported Delphi / RAD Studio Versions
CGDevTools supports:
- Delphi / RAD Studio 10 Seattle
- Delphi / RAD Studio 10.1 Berlin
- Delphi / RAD Studio 10.2 Tokyo
- Delphi / RAD Studio 10.3 Rio
- Delphi / RAD Studio 10.4 Sydney
- Delphi / RAD Studio 11 Alexandria
- Delphi / RAD Studio 12 Athens
- Delphi / RAD Studio 13 Florence
Licensing
CGDevTools requires a separate license, which can be obtained from AToZed.
Like IntraWeb, CGDevTools can be installed and evaluated without a license. When no valid license is available, the application runs in evaluation mode.
Customers who purchase a CGDevTools license from AToZed can access their license through the AToZed Customer Portal at app.atozed.com. Licenses are stored there and can be downloaded when needed.
Evaluation Mode
You can install and evaluate CGDevTools before purchasing a license. No license is required for the initial evaluation.
When running in evaluation mode, the application can only be used from local addresses and may display evaluation-related information and impose the limitations applicable to the evaluation version.
Installation
CGDevTools is installed separately from IntraWeb. Make sure that the CGDevTools version matches the installed IntraWeb version.
Before installing or upgrading CGDevTools, close the Delphi/RAD Studio IDE and any applications that may be using CGDevTools packages.
License Registration
When you receive a CGDevTools license from AToZed, you must register it using the LicenseRegistration.exe application, which is installed in the CGDevTools installation root folder.
CGDevTools uses its own license registration application. It is separate from the license registration application used by IntraWeb, but works in a similar way.
Upgrading from Previous Versions
If you are upgrading an existing application from an older version of CGDevTools or IntraWeb, make sure that RAD Studio Library Path points to the correct version folder. Multiple entries for different versions of IntraWeb or CGDevTools libraries can cause the build to fail.
