IntraWeb 17 Beta 1 has been released!

It has been a little over a year in the making, but IntraWeb 17 Beta 1 has been released! It is still a private beta for now but we will expand it in the future.

We develop using a front loaded methodology. This means we have done the bulk of the work already and most of what is left is busy work and will proceed much faster than the previous phase.

What’s Left?

There are a few small items, and two large items:

  1. WYSIWYG designer – 17 already had an integrated designer that is integrated into the Delphi IDE. It is not WYSIWYG yet, but does allow developing applications. Users must currently hand code IWML, but there is also a tree view that is integrated with the object inspector to set properties, and events.
  2. Controls – We have only a few controls at this point, but we already have JQUI and other support. The control framework in complete including client side data binding. We need to complete the control scaffolding and add more controls for other JavaScript libraries.

ETA

We are still shooting to have a usable 17 release with a go live license by year end.
