cheap solution to train intraweb programming?
#1
Hallo,

is there a cheap solution to train intraweb programming?

Is it possible to buy an Intraweb version and use it with
Delphi Starter or Lazarus Delphi?

Delphi Professional is much too expensive for private training.  Sad

Best regards

Starter depends on which version, but if latest ones AFAIK it works ok. Alexandre can confirm or not.

Lazarus - Does not work. The designer is very different and the work required to make it work is not trivial. We have looked at it before and continue to reevaluate it as needed.

You can use the Evaluation edition as long as you want, did you know it?
Evaluation edition never expires. You can install it in multiple machines and everything works except some very specific functionality (like HTTPS).
You will also only be able to use local access to your application, but for training it doesn't matter.

Isn't it enough for most, if not all, cases?

What Alex said: You can install the Evaluation edition for versions of Delphi that don't already come with it.

Also, I see this wording on the Delphi Starter FAQ: "Embarcadero offers academic discounts on the Professional, Enterprise and Architect editions with pricing lower than the Starter pricing, so we recommend the higher editions for academic use."

Hi Dan,

exactly! Besides that, IntraWeb does work with Delphi Starter which is 100% free. So, anyone can learn how to program with Delphi and IntraWeb using 100% free and legal products.
