Google Analytics
#1
Howdy All!

I have been asked about Google Analytics for years now in my web reservations module.

A few years ago, I added a feature where my users could insert a google url into each of my IW web pages that allowed page tracking.

Several of them now want the ability to add custom variables to each page.

While this doesn't sound hard, everything I find on the web wants to enroll me into a multi-hour/day/week course which I am not going to do.

So my question is: HAS ANYONE ELSE ADDED AN EXTENDABLE GOOGLE ANALYTICS FEATURE INTO THEIR IW application?

If so, could you give a brief how-to explanation?

Thanks,

Shane

First: I know nothing about it, but your question made me curious. I'd have expected them to lay the info out on a silver platter. What you ask for should be easy to come by.

Have you checked the usual suspects? Though I haven't watched them, I get a lot of hits if I search youtube for "google analytics tutorial". Are those not what you are looking for?

Good evening Dan!

I looked at a bunch of them and there are many but none that I could find that show how to do a quick cookie cutter approach.

I am hoping somebody could just say:

"Put this script in your header with your tag names formatted like this with tag values and it all happens".....

I guess I will just have to get more involved than I want when I finish up what I am working on.

Thanks and have a great evening.

It looks to me like you just copy their script into your html. See here at about 3 min.

Howdy Dan!

I already implemented that years ago.... my customers want me to add support to Customer Fields (Tags), not just page tracking.
