How do you wish to identify them? Why not just a standard user and password? You can use client side certificates as well, but thats fairly complex.

You may need to look at client side cerfiticates. Or, something even more secure like digipass or other OTP solution etc which many banks use.

or you can send SMS to a registered phone on login with a code and requier them to enter that code to login further.
