Hi everyone,

I'm working on a business catalog website using web technologies, and I'm looking for some advice on creating a clean and responsive user interface.

The project is for a company that showcases Office Furniture in Dubai, so the website contains product categories, image galleries, contact forms, and inquiry pages. My main goal is to make the site load quickly while keeping the layout simple and user-friendly.

For those who have experience with IntraWeb or Delphi web applications:

Which UI components work best for product catalog pages?
Do you have any recommendations for improving page performance when displaying many images?
Is there a preferred approach for responsive layouts that works well across desktop and mobile devices?

I'd appreciate any suggestions, best practices, or examples from your own projects.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Greetings

I've used sendfile before in Delphi applications (10.4 Sydney) to send files built with ReportBuilder to the clients downloads folder. All has worked well for years.

Now, I'm writing a new application to do this using the following code:

Code:

ppReport1.DeviceType:='PDF';
ppReport1.TextFileName:= 'D:\OnlineEntrys\Online Receipt - ' + formatdatetime('dd-mm-yyyy hh_nn_ss', now) + '.pdf';
ppReport1.ShowPrintDialog:=False;
ppReport1.ShowCancelDialog:=False;
ppReport1.ModalCancelDialog:=False;
ppReport1.ModalPreview:=False;
ppreport1.Print;
webapplication.SendFile(ppReport1.TextFileName, True);
ppreport1.reset;

The 'D:\OnlineEntries' folder was set up for me by the sysadmin to drop the files while I send them out. The files are created successfully.

When I run the code, I receive the following message:

 error.png (Size: 10.3 KB / Downloads: 3)

I've searched the documentation and the internet, and cannot figure out what this message is trying
to tell me. Before I changed it to an ISAPI dll, I ran it as an exe file on my local computer, and it worked
fine. My gut tells me that it's a permissions issue somewhere, but I have no idea where.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Any tips for a software designer / flowchart thingy?

I'm working on a server, it's getting complicated now and I am struggling drawing out objects, their properties and logic flowcharts on A4 bits of paper. It's just not a strength I have.

Any freeware out there that I can use? - It needs to let me design objects with their properties and then basic flowcharts - preferably with events..

I am really struggling to keep it all in my head!

I have several Free programs out for Search and Rescue , which keep showing up a "false positive" for some kind of virus.

As a result, in the last 6 months or so, it has become nearly impossible for people to install my programs.
Firefox blocks the installation package on download.
Microsoft windows 10 tries to block it with both an anti-virus system followed by a Certifcate problem (I have no certificate as I cannot afford the huge yearly fees).

Yesterday I got a panic call from a New Zealand Search and Rescue organisation, that suddenly on all their computers the main program litterally dissapeared while they where using it, including the Icon of the desktop. Right in the middle of a life-and-death Operation.

So, somewhere in my 250,000 lines of source code is something which generates a sequence of bytes in the Executable which triggens some anti-virus programs.

- How can I locate the exact position of this sequence in the executable?
- How can I somehow reverse engineer (de-compille) the executable to the point that I can then locate where in the Source code the problem is?

I feel stupid to have to ask this after all these years programming, but I never got this properly sorted out.

I have a Form which is opened with ShowModal.
There is a Cancel button and an OK button.
The Modalresult Cancel button is set at design time to mrCancel.

But the Modalresult of the OK botton cannot be set to mrOK because I need to be able to break out of it, and let the user correct all invalid settings on the form.
So:

OkBtn.Modelresult = mrNone;

Form.OkBtnClick();
begin
if SomethingWrong then
begin
ShowMessage(Fix it!);
OkBtn.Modelresult := mrNone;
exit; // Form should NOT close
end else
begin
All okay, Close Form with Modalresult mrOK;
OkBtn.Modelresult := mrOK; // Nothing happens...
Form.Modalresult := mrOK; // has no effect
CLose; // Does NOT close with mrOK.
end;

This does not work.
What is the correct way to deal with a Modal form in such a way that the final Modalresult is mrOK but while still working it is possible to intercept the OKBtn from closing the form?

Hello,

I've read the section in "Migrating to IntraWeb XIV and XV" regarding "Dynamically setting the application main form".

I have a Standalone application that accesses a lot of variables defined in the usersessionUnit. The main form sees these variables by including the UsersessionUnit and the ServerController unit in it's uses section.

The suggested way to do it requires the inclusion of the form's unit in the uses clause of the ServerController Unit.

I would like to dynamically switch the MainForm out for another more suited for display on a mobile device when required.

If I try to do it as shown in the documentation above, the inclusion of the form's unit in the ServerController's uses clause creates a circular reference.

It leads me to believe that maybe I'm utilizing the usersessionunit incorrectly.

How can I accomplish dynamically swapping the MainForm while still isolating each user's session variables?

Thanks in advance,

i am using some cryptography inside my software , i understand that the keys needs to be zero out from the memory in order to prevent hackers to catch the key

but i feel this isn't enough , using ollydebug can also break the rule before memory getting cleared by stepping into the code

before the zeromemory called

is there any suggested way to harden some code function from being stepped by debuggers

i have tried to check if the application is running in debug environment using IsDebuggerPresent but this easly can be bybassed by ollydebug plugins

is there something extra can be done ?
