TIWMemo cursor position

If I add a line to a (cleared) Memo such as "HELLO THERE ", when the memo get focus the cursor is at the start on the (empty) line below.  Is there a way to place the cursor at the end of the first line so the user can continue typing immediately following the space ?

I can do it manually by simply entering a backspace, is there perhaps a way to 'inject' a BS when the memo gets focus ?
