I run into issues where the IWdatepicker in a region aligned top will appear transparent (You see the calendar, but also see what it is covering) when it renders the calendar outside the region (Clip Region is false) over another region aligned client. No issues with the other dropdown type components.

Which control are we talking about exactly?

Without seeing it I would suggest for you to have a look if there is some 404 status when rendering the page (F12, Developer tools, Network tab). Most of the time this happens because of a missing CSS file.
