There are quite a few sources here and there is a demo in our demo repo. But its basically to support pooled database connections.

I would like to know if there is any way to share the same connection with all sessions. So I wouldn't need to open a database connection for each session. Is there a way to do this?

I would say that is probably a bad idea. 1 connection for multiple session/threads. As things would probably fail and/or blow up when 2 ore more processess are trying to hit Database at same time via the one connection. Unless going out of your way to block access / critical section type stuff to prevent simultaneous access.

Got it ... to solve this would you have to create an application server such as datasnap or restdataware?

Not really sure what the problem here is. Just pop'd in and saw this.

For our IW application we have A MySQL connection object ( MyDac from Devart ) that is on UserSession datamodule.

Then each usersession has its own DB connection object to work with.

We also make sure to never keep anything open. So once we query or run stored proc, grab the data, do whatever we need to. Close connections.

Since we can have over 1000+ users on a single server at a time.
