so you are suggesting that IW is making up a wrong file just to annoy you. That doesn't happen

JS files are served from the disk. Whatever you have in your wwwroot folder is that what IW will deliver. If your browser is getting something else there are only 2 options:
1- the browser is wrong
2- the file on server is wrong
there is no other possibility

Very interesting remark! What I am sure up to now, is that the template is loading the wrong version of the Js file! And for sure it is not from the file I saved on the disk! And it is not the browser either!
I am still searching!
