Connecting to a Repository

Please install the IWS server first or ask your IWS administrator for the IWS server location and your credentials.

When you start the IWS client it will ask you to login to a Repository. On the first start you will need to add a new repository connection.

  • Click on [Properties] to see the "Manage Repositories" dialog.
  • Click on [add] to add a new connection to a repository.
  • In the "Edit Repository" dialog enter a meaningful name for the repository and enter the complete URL to the IWS server.
  • Click on [OK] and close the "Manage Repositories" dialog. Now select the Repository in the Login dialog and enter the user name and password you defined as admi user during the server installation.

Note:

Always enter a complete URL - do not omit the "http://" prefix.

Note:

IWS can work via proxies also. However, you need to set your system wide proxy options in "Control Panel" - "Internet settings".

Example:
If you installed an IWS repository server instance on a server of with the following IP192.168.2.102 and used /IWS as path during the server installation, then you have to enter:

 http://192.168.2.102/iws
