External Editors
Be default IWS opens HTML documents with the integrated HTML editor. This editor has the advantage that it kows about variables, iterators, templates and linked documents. It provides a rich WYSIWYG feature set and even has an HTML source view. IWS does not force you to use the integrated editor, but allows you to assign external editors to HTML and all other file types. When you double click a non-HTML file (an image for example), then IWS will open the editor for that file type which is assigned in Windows. This can also be adjusted by selecting "File -> Manage Editors"
In this example notepad.exe has been choosen to be the external editor for HTML files, this does not mean that notepad will be opened when you double-click on an HTML document. You have to right-click the document and select "Edit in external editor". Note: Specify the full path to the editor's executable, if its not in the search path as notpad.exe is.
When you finshed editing the file in the external editor, then save the file and be sure to check it in. IWS can not recognize when you finished editing, thus this must be done manually:
