User Management

Access to a project on a remote repository is controlled by a user database. When you start the IWS client then you need to supply your credentials:

 

Depending on your role and the projects you are assigned to, you will be able to access projects on the repository you are connected to. 

Roles

Access to certain features is contrled by roles. Currently 3 different roles do exist:

Repository Administrator

  • may do everything
  • sees all projects
  • may add/remove projects
  • may add/remove users

Project Admin

  • may change his projects ( any project based settings )
  • may assign/remove users to/from his projects
  • may not create new projects
  • may not delete his own project
  • only sees projects he is assigned to
  • may not create/modify/delete users
  • may change deploy locations
  • may unlock docs locked by others / break others locks

Editor

  • may deploy
  • may not change deploy locations
  • may edit/create/delete/add templates, variables, docs, files, folders
  • may edit any document
  • only sees projects he is assigned to
