This FAQ includes questions and answers related to the Delphi 2005 IntraWeb bundled version. If you have purchased a separate IntraWeb license, these questions and answers DO NOT apply.

Why does IntraWeb function as registered when I run from Delphi, but when I deploy my application it reverts to evaluation mode?

This is unfortunately a bug which was not detected in the QA process. Heavy QA was performed by both Atozed and Borland, however this item was related to a late change and testing there after was only done from within the IDE. Delphi professional users should update to a newer version. Delphi Enterprise and Architect users should upgrade to 7.2.31 or higher because of installation issue that affects some configurations to revert to IntraWeb for Delphi professional. IntraWeb downloads.

Why is IntraWeb listed as unregistered in the Delphi about box?

It is a mistake in the distribution and purely cosmetic. It only affects the about box. IntraWeb is registered and will function as designed. This item is unrelated to applications switching into evaluation mode on deployment.

I own a purchased IntraWeb license, will I receive the update to Delphi 2005 for free?

IntraWeb is sold on an upgrade and support and maintenance basis. All users whose terms are current will receive an update of IntraWeb for Delphi 2005 free of charge. Please see the download page for information.

I am a Delphi 2005 user, but have not purchased an IntraWeb license. What upgrades will I receive?

Delphi 2005 ships with IntraWeb 7.2 and Delphi 2005 users have a bundled IntraWeb license. Delphi 2005 users do not have a subscription as registered IntraWeb users do. Delphi 2005 users can receive:

• 7.2 - All updates to 7.2. Updates to 7.2 are already available on the download page.

Is the full version of IntraWeb included in Delphi 2005?

• Delphi 2005 Professional contains IntraWeb Page Edition.
• Delphi 2005  and Architect contain the full version of IntraWeb for Borland VCL

Is the IntraWeb in Delphi 2005 Professional an evaluation edition?

No.

Delphi 2005 Professional contains IntraWeb Page Edition. Page mode is fully functional in Delphi 2005 Professional. Delphi 2005 however also allows for evaluation of Application mode which is not part of the Page Edition.

I have Delphi 2005 Professional, what benefits would I receive by purchasing IntraWeb?

Delphi 2005 Professional includes IntraWeb Page Edition. Upgrading to IntraWeb for Borland VCL will provide you with:

• All the benefits listed in "I have Delphi 2005 Enterprise/Architect, what benefits would I receive by purchasing IntraWeb?". (See next question)
• Application Mode
• Stand Alone Server
• Installation as Service

I have Delphi 2005 Enterprise / Architect, what benefits would I receive by purchasing IntraWeb?

Delphi 2005 Enterprise / Architect contains a full licensed version of IntraWeb 7.2 for Borland VCL. However there are some benefits of purchasing an IntraWeb subscription.

• Support - Support is provided by Atozed Staff only to users with current IntraWeb subscriptions. Users with IntraWeb licenses included in Delphi 7 should contact Borland about support options provided by Borland or use our peer support newsgroups.
• Upgrades - Delphi 2005 users will receive free updates to the 7.2 version. Registered users receive all updates and upgrades for the length of their subscription. 
• Beta Access - Registered users have access to beta products before release and opportunities to closer influence future development of the IntraWeb product line.
• Delphi 5, Delphi 6, Delphi 7, Kylix and C++ Builder Support - Registered users have licenses that permit use of IntraWeb in Delphi 5, Delphi 6, Delphi 7, C++ Builder, and Kylix (Versions 3).
• Source Code Purchase Option - Registered users have an option to purchase IntraWeb source code.

Are there any royalties or runtime fees for deploying an IntraWeb application?

No.

IntraWeb is licensed per developer only. There are no royalties or runtime fees for deploying your applications built with IntraWeb. IntraWeb is licensed in a manner similar to Delphi itself.

Will my key work in Delphi 8 or Kylix?

Only registered (purchased) keys will work in versions of Delphi other than 2005. Delphi 2005 bundled keys will not work in any other version of Delphi.

Can I buy Delphi 2005 Professional and then purchase IntraWeb for Borland VCL instead of buying Delphi 2005 Enterprise or even Architect?

Yes, IntraWeb for Borland VCL works with Delphi 2005 Professional. Simply purchase IntraWeb for Borland VCL and follow the installation directions.
