Indy 10 News
Big news on the Indy 10 front! Indy 10 development has kicked into overdrive and development is progressing at a frightening pace. We are targeting a November release to coincide with BorCon US.
We have recently also split the Indy library into a third package called SuperCore. SuperCore now contains the advanced items such as IOCP and fibers. SuperCore will be developed separately and released later after Indy 10 is officially released. This allows us to keep the advanced portions separate to minimized units linked in to normal applications, but also makes unit testing easier for us and allowed us to move up the development schedule of Indy 10. The Indy 10 initial release will consist of Core and Protocols which contains everything that is included in Indy 9, as well as some additions.
Indy.net
In preparation for Delphi 8, Indy 10 will also support .net. This means that Indy 10 will be compatible and usable from Delphi 8, C# and Visual Basic.net.

New Bug System
Unfortunately in the old system many users submitted technical support requests, duplicate bugs, bugs already fixed, poor quality reports, or bugs that were in user code. This created a very high level of noise and made it very difficult for the Indy team to find the valid reports without spending a lot of time filtering through the bad reports.
The old bug system at SourceForge has been disabled and taken offline. We have deployed a new bug system which has access controls on entry to limit and control the quality of bug reports into the system. The new bug system supports voting, "me too"ing and many other features which will help us prioritize and evaluate the quality of bug reports.
Currently only members of Indy Core and selected end users can enter bug reports. If you do not have access you should report bugs into our newsgroups where one of those who have access can pre screen your report and enter it if valid. Public users can access the bug system in read only mode to browse bugs, comments, and their status.
In the future we will also be opening more accounts in the bug system to end users once a reliable and efficient mechanism has been found for verifying users and limiting access to "quality" users.

IndyProject.org
The Indy project obtained this domain several months ago but many people are still not aware of it. Of course our old addresses still work, but next time you need the Indy web site, just remember http://www.IndyProject.org.
SpamAsassin Troubles
Unfortunately Indy's popularity has also been noticed by spammers. Because of this SpamAsassin has naively targeted the Indy library specifically. This causes any e-mail sent by Indy to be rejected by SpamAsassin in many cases. Indy 9 has undergone some minor changes (Available in the development snapshot) to reduce the chances of being rejected by more than 50%. Indy 10 has under gone even more changed to reduce the SpamAsassin score to 0 in most cases.
We hope that SpamAsassin in the future will target the spam and not the library. But the recent changes will make it very difficult if possible at all to identify the library.
